Chinmaya Somnath

Chinmaya Somanth Academic Facility is a multiuse structure to serve the needs of Chinmaya Mission in Farfax VA. The 39,000 SF split level building provides a performance hall and banquet facility with an attached commercial kitchen in addition to staff offices and other support spaces. The lower level accommodates 15 classrooms designed for early childhood education, a teachers lounge, storage, and a generous 1500 SF activity room.

Large skylights and windows throughout allow for maximum solar harvesting to create inspirational and sustainable spaces. Contemporary design elements marry with traditional Hindu temple design for a fresh aesthetic both inside and out.
