Hindu Center

The Hindu Center of Virginia Richmond Temple is the first LEED certified Hindu temple in the country and the first LEED Gold religious facility in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

It is designed to use 30% less energy than normal buildings of similar type and all building materials used are sustainable materials.  The day light in the facility is increased by the use of skylights and clearstory windows in Worship Hall and main Entry Hall.

The 20,654 SF new building provides a 700 person capacity Worship Hall on the main level and Classrooms and Lecture Hall at the lower level.

Traditional Temple Architecture found in India inspired the architecture of the building. The main towers will be decorated by carvings done by the Artisans from India specializing in temple carvings.
